Shadow Rays at Marshall Point
Marshall Point lighthouse is one of our favorite spots to shoot at night. In this image the ‘wagon wheel’ effect from the astragals in the tower's cap design adds to the otherworldly feel.
The Wagon Wheel
Marshall Point lighthouse is one of our favorite spots to shoot at night. In this image the ‘wagon wheel’ effect from the astragals in the tower's cap design adds to the otherworldly feel as the photogenic core section of the Milky Way stretches through the scene. Comet 252P/LINEAR can also be seen as a green spot above and slightly to the left of the galactic core.
Check out our Processing page for BTS + EXIF + Before & After for this shot.

Eagle Lake Airglow
An exposure blend of 2 shots at Eagle Lake in Acadia Nat'l Park featuring a crazy amount of airglow.
The Milky Way shines bright above our heads at Eagle Lake in Acadia National Park, Maine.
Red Light District
The Milky Way stretches across the sky next to Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Acadia National Park. Photographing our night sky at any lighthouse is difficult. This spot is especially demanding due to the intense red light coming from the tower’s fourth order Fresnel lens - this image required determination & some fancy footwork in post-processing. This is a 5 image vertical panorama taken in August 2015.

Capturing Maine's Night Sky
Another beautiful night under the stars at our Moosehead Lake workshop in September 2015. Big thanks to all our participants for making the trip up to one of our favorite spots to view and photograph the night sky - and for posing for this vertical panorama group shot.
