Milky Way and Moon rise reflections over the Penobscot River at Sandy Point Beach in Maine. Captured as our workshop was wrapping up in March 2017, this was a beautiful but brutal scene to photograph in single digit temps with a blustery 25+mph wind that wouldn't let up during the four hours we were shooting.
Shadow Rays at Marshall Point
Marshall Point lighthouse is one of our favorite spots to shoot at night. In this image the ‘wagon wheel’ effect from the astragals in the tower's cap design adds to the otherworldly feel.
You have to be at the right place at the right time. This is an exposure blend of two shots during our North Woods of NH workshop - August 2016.
Incredible airglow over the Deer Isle-Sedgwick bridge in Maine.
Incredible airglow and clear night sky at Monument Cove in Acadia National Park.
Single exposure taken during our North Woods of New Hampshire workshop in August 2016.
A quick trip down to Lookout Point in Harpswell, Maine tonight turned into a time lapse and a great excuse to drink a few beers as the camera clicked away.
An abandoned ship under the night sky in Maine. Single exposure. Good leading lines. A great find.
Single exposure capturing the night sky and traffic crossing the Deer Isle-Sedgwick bridge in Maine.
The Wagon Wheel
Marshall Point lighthouse is one of our favorite spots to shoot at night. In this image the ‘wagon wheel’ effect from the astragals in the tower's cap design adds to the otherworldly feel as the photogenic core section of the Milky Way stretches through the scene. Comet 252P/LINEAR can also be seen as a green spot above and slightly to the left of the galactic core.

Clouds begin to take over the Milky Way and the light pollution above the town of Moab as a specter comes through Turret Arch - Arches National Park, Utah. A Behind The Scenes graphic of this image with EXIF data can be viewed on our Processing page.
