Milky Way at Pemaquid Point Light
The Summer Milky Way moves through the sky behind Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol, Maine. Photographed in June 2015, this is one frame from a time lapse.
Red Light District
The Milky Way stretches across the sky next to Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Acadia National Park. Photographing our night sky at any lighthouse is difficult. This spot is especially demanding due to the intense red light coming from the tower’s fourth order Fresnel lens - this image required determination & some fancy footwork in post-processing. This is a 5 image vertical panorama taken in August 2015.

Loon Island lighthouse
The late Winter/early Spring Milky Way making its horizontal climb through the sky behind Loon Island lighthouse on Lake Sunapee, NH. The window for photographing the visible arm of our home galaxy like this is very small.
